  • How long should a screen enclosure last?
Most screen enclosures are installed using fiberglass screens. These are popular due to their cost-effectiveness and ease of installation. The life expectancy of the screen depends on the quality of the screen. On average, fiberglass screens can last about 10 to 15 years. They are less prone to corrosion but can stretch or tear more easily than metal screens. The aluminum material used to frame a screen enclosure may last 20-30 years depending on the quality of the material, the environment, and the upkeep!
  • What type of screen is best for screen rooms?
The most common material used in screening is a fiberglass screen. Fiberglass does not corrode, stain, or rust. It's most important traits are that it keeps insects, debris, and leaves OUT...and let's a the great Tampa breeze IN. This material is more flexible than aluminum and doesn't scratch or rip as easily. Fiberglass offers a multitude of color and style choices as well.
  • Does a screen room add value to your home?
Adding a screen room or screen enclosure to your home adds living space and increases your home's livable square footage. Because of this – it's one of the best investments you can make to increase your home's value.
  • What is the difference between a lanai & screen room?
A screen room or screen enclosure encloses an area on the outside of your home, usually a paver or wood deck. This type of screen enclosure is built off of the side of your home. A lanai is a framed in section of your home, which could be a back porch. It is usually built in or around an existing home structure.
